We’re excited to share a bit more about our sponsors for 2021; what they stand for, what they do and what led them to supporting the Surf Coast Trek.
We are excited to welcome back GeelongPort!
Can you please tell us a little bit about your business?
GeelongPort, located in Corio Bay, is the second largest port in Victoria. In operation for more than 150 years, GeelongPort handles more than 11 million tonnes of product annually across the agriculture, construction and energy sectors.
GeelongPort is a major driver of Victoria’s economy, managing in excess of $7 billion of trade and generating more than 1,800 jobs across the state, and in 2022, GeelongPort will become the home of the iconic Spirit of Tasmania.
What made you decide to support the Surf Coast Trek as a sponsor?
The Surf Coast Trek is a key event on the local calendar, bringing together people from all walks of life and showcasing the incredible beauty of our local region, all while supporting tremendous local charities.
GeelongPort cares immensely about our local community and is honoured to be involved in the Surf Coast Trek.
Why is supporting the community important for your business?
At GeelongPort, we believe in the power of serving, connecting and celebrating those within our region. For us, it is a privilege to connect more deeply with our community and provide support where we can, as it all contributes to ensuring that our communities are bright and enjoyable places to live and that those within these communities are supported to live their best lives.
What message would you like to give trekkers undertaking the Surf Coast Trek?
For those participating in the trek we encourage you to take in the tremendous beauty of the Surf Coast Trek and appreciate the stunning natural environment that is right on our doorstep.
We also encourage you to connect with those around you on the walk and enjoy every moment!
What are you most looking forward to about being involved with the Surf Coast Trek 2021?
We are most looking forward to seeing the smiling faces on the trekkers as they pass through and being able to support and encourage them on their walk.
We are also very much looking forward to building and deepening our community connections and soaking up the wonderful community spirit that arises when a group of people come together for a cause greater than themselves.
Thanks to Surf Coast Trek for the opportunity to be involved in this event – we’re looking forward to seeing you all on the day!
