We’re excited to share a bit more about our sponsors for 2020; what they stand for, what they do and what led them to supporting the Surf Coast Trek.
Our first sponsor we’re pleased to introduce for 2020 is Hamlan Homes.
Can you please tell us a little bit about your business?
Hamlan Homes was established in Anglesea in 1983 after the Ash Wednesday bushfires and has grown into Geelong’s largest locally owned and operated builder. We continue to receive industry award recognition for our stunning coastal homes, split-level homes, custom builds and architectural designs.
What made you decide to support the Surf Coast Trek as a sponsor?
Building homes on the coast is where it all began for Hamlan Homes so it’s a natural fit for us to support an event which takes place along the beautiful surf coast. We were also inspired by Mick O’Malley, one of your other sponsors, where many of the Hamlan team attend group fitness training.
Why is supporting the community important for your business?
Supporting local isn’t just about supporting a local business for Hamlan Homes, it is also about supporting the local community and the causes that are close to our hearts.
Hamlan Homes has community partnerships which include Grow (a joint initiative between Give Where You Live Foundation and G21 — Geelong Region Alliance), G21, Northern Futures, Geelong Community Foundation, the Regional Industry Sector Employment program (RISE) and Read the Play Inc. Supporting young people within our community is a cause we’re very passionate about.
What message would you like to give trekkers undertaking the Surf Coast Trek?
Hamlan Homes is Distinctively Local. We’re distinctive in design, distinctively local in our history, and distinctive in our ongoing commitment to the community.
What are you most looking forward to about being involved with the Surf Coast Trek 2020?
Our team is looking forward to being in the environment that we love. We’re so lucky to have such a scenic, beautiful coastline so for us to have the opportunity to participate in a group event like this, where we physically challenge ourselves while also enjoying our surrounds is a really special opportunity.
