We’re excited to share a bit more about our sponsors for 2020; what they stand for, what they do and what led them to supporting the Surf Coast Trek.
Introducing for 2020… Avalon Airport!
Can you please tell us a little bit about your business?
We are a team of highly engaged people, with a focus on the delivering legal solutions to help our clients meet the challenges of today, while planning for tomorrow.Avalon Airport is Australia’s newest international airport. We have domestic Jetstar flights to Adelaide, Sydney and the Gold Coast and have twice daily AirAsia flights to Kuala Lumpur.
Travellers choose to fly through Avalon because of cheaper airfares, easier parking right out the front of the terminals, and a quick and simple check in process. What made you decide to support the Surf Coast Trek as a sponsor?
The Surf Coast Trek is an important local fundraising event, an effective blending of personal and community health – whilst simultaneously celebrating the incredible local walking tracks and views. The two charities it aids provide much-needed assistance to the communities in and around Geelong.
Why is supporting the community important for your business?
The airport is here to serve the community as much as it can. That’s multi-layered; we constantly work towards making the airport as useful as possible for those who use it, while also doing what we can do to contribute to a healthy community. Our business and our communities are inextricably linked – the well-being of one is to a large extent a reflection of the other.
What message would you like to give trekkers undertaking the Surf Coast Trek?
Anyone who has signed up for the Surf Coast Trek is going to have an immensely satisfying day. The culmination of training, raising funds, working as a team, visiting or revisiting stunning coastline, sweating it out – pushing one’s body to the limit – and then crossing the finish line – that is a unique experience. And of course the knowledge that all of that is to raise funds for such worthy causes magnifies that feeling of achievement ten fold.
What are you most looking forward to about being involved with the Surf Coast Trek 2020?
This year we’ve donated four AirAsia flights to Kuala Lumpur and we have a team of trekkers. In the past our staff has trekked, and we’ve looked after one of the pit stops. It’s always a terrific way for everyone to collaborate away from the office.
