Need some inspiration with your fundraising? We’ve outlined a few ideas to get the coggs turning and some fun injected into your fundraising events.
1. Clothes Swap Night
A unique idea by the Surf Coast 8 team arose last year with the concept of a clothes swap night. Attendees of the night were asked to pay a fee to enter, which went straight into the fundraising for the trek. Once inside, attendees were able to swap clothes with each other – getting a new wardrobe with minimal cost! They also had donated wine on the night, with each glass sold going towards the donation as well.
The Surf Coast 8 team are entering the trek this year, so look out for other creative ways they fundraise.
2. Staff Lunches or Bake Sale
We’ve all had days where we’ve ran out of time to make lunch, didn’t try in the first place or simply left it sitting in the fridge at home. That’s why this lunch idea is such a clever one. From one of the team at Coulter Roache, a staff member simply began making lunches in bulk and selling them to staff each day. Fellow staff members would book in for their orders and the cost of creating the meals were donated by the maker. Hosting a bake sale on the side, or individually, can get you a few extra dollars to put towards your goals.
3. Host a Movie Screening
Last year the Hot Beaches team put together a movie screening of Jasper Jones at the Pivotonian Cinema. Tickets were $20, with a silent auction also running on the night raising funds for the event. A great amount was raised for the trek and it was a fun night all round. Speak to your local cinema about cutting a deal, chances are they’d be open to being involved.
4. Casual Friday Gold Coin
Casual Friday is hardly a new term, but how about convincing your workplace to donate a gold coin at the next one for the cause? Speak to management and present the idea and we’re sure they’ll be on board. Depending on the size of your business, you could potentially raise up to $400 to put towards your goal.
5. Wine Night
Another brilliant creation by the team at Coulter Roache is the wine night. Last year several team members put on a night where wines were either donated by the winery/bottleshop or purchased by the host and each glass was sold to attendees of the event. Each glass of wine sale went directly towards the fundraising efforts for the Surf Coast Trek.
